Consul General of Japan Yasushi Misawa and Mrs. Yoko Misawa will graciously open their residence to the Japan-America Society of Hawaii for a springtime program to observe Hinamatsuri, or Japanese Doll Festival.
Traditionally, Japanese celebrate Hinamatsuri on March 1st to wish for the happiness and good health of their daughters. Come and view the beautiful display of hinaningyo, or dolls, dressed in traditional kimono from the Heian court period (794-1185). Enjoy a Japanese traditional dance provided by Segawa Senka, accompanied by the koto. Light refreshments will be provided. Please join us for this festive occasion!
