This fundraising event will once again bring our local business community, local dignitaries and individual supporters together to benefit the Japan-America Society of Hawaii (JASH) and our many programs that promote cultural exchange between Hawaii and Japan.

We are grateful for the unwavering generosity of our tournament sponsors, volunteers and donors whose support and dedication to our mission has resulted in the continuation and success of this tournament. Peace Forum

The Japan-America Society of Hawaii (JASH), in collaboration with the Conflict and Peace Specialist and the Spark M. Matsunaga Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, is preparing a Hawaii-Hiroshima Youth Peace Forum to be held on Saturday, March 30, 2024.

The Hawaii-Hiroshima Youth Peace Forum invites recipients from JASH’s Hiroshima Peace Scholarship (HPS) and its sister program, the Hawaii Heiwa Scholarship (HHS), which each sends two high school students to Hiroshima and Honolulu respectively to learn about that region’s unique history in the World War II era. The Peace Forum also welcomes guest speakers from the Matsunaga Institute to share how they have pursued peace-focused projects in their undergraduate and/or graduate studies.

JASH’s educational programs foster understanding of “different perspectives.” Through the Peace Forum, we hope to provide a space for youth to learn about historical and current events from the perspectives of different countries; share about their experiences, research, and understanding; and engage their curiosity as young Peacebuilders.
